The goal of Family Therapy is to nurture change and growth within the family unit. Together we can explore communication, shared values, family dynamics, relationships, and more. This may be done in sessions with the family as a whole, or smaller subsets of family members depending on your need.
Individual therapy is a place to explore, better understand, and address personal struggles. This may include emotion regulation, self-esteem, feelings of not being good enough, anxiety, depression, or other areas of need.
I offer individual therapy to children, teenagers, and adults. When working with children, I believe it’s important for the parents or guardians to be involved in the process as much as possible. This will support conversations and strategies learned in therapy to continue outside of sessions.
Parenting can be a joy and is also very hard work. You may feel underappreciated, overworked, or that you are struggling to break out of cycles of conflict. Your children may be experiencing big feelings or difficult behaviour and you are not sure how best to help them.
Parent counselling is a place just for you to identify and address personal struggles, explore parenting strategies to support your children and teens with behaviour change and emotion regulation, or to work on communication between partners.
It can be challenging to find opportunities for thorough clinical supervision in the overburdened public sector. I offer clinical supervision services to new MSW graduates who are looking for additional support in their clinical development.
Clinical supervision is meant to help you develop and grow your clinical knowledge and skills, increase and enhance self-reflective capacity, identify and address issues around transference and counter-transference, and increase your sense of confidence and competence.
