About Me

I am a registered social worker and have been working as an individual and family therapist since 2010. I earned my Master’s of Social Work at the University of Toronto and my Bachelor of Arts, Honours Psychology degree at the University of Ottawa.

In my free time I love to adventure outside with my daughter, read and discuss books, crochet, practice yoga, and optimistically call my jogs “runs”.

Outside of my private practice I have worked as a School Social Worker at the Toronto District School Board and as a Child and Family Therapist at SickKids Centre for Community Mental Health, formerly the Hincks-Dellcrest Centre, where I also trained as a social work fellow the year after MSW graduation. I have done similar work at Kinark Child and Family Services, and provided research support at Holland-Bloorview Kids Rehabiliation Hospital.

My Approach

I use a number of therapeutic approaches to help my clients meet their goals. This includes understanding the connection between thoughts, feelings, and behaviours, and developing strategies to manage strong emotions (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy). I help my clients explore the stories they tell about themselves and identify and follow their chosen path (Narrative and Solution Focused Therapy). Sometimes this work includes understanding and processing where we have come from and how this impacts us in our day to day life (Attachment and Emotion Focused Therapies). I am also trained in mindfulness informed play therapies intended to strengthen parent-child relationships.
